HPGe gamma-ray all-in-one spectrometer: ORTEC’s LDM-1, nu bij PEO
ORTEC introduces LDM-1, an integrated gamma-ray spectrometer for fixed and mobile counting room applications.
The self-contained Laboratory Detector Module (LDM-1) uses a High-Purity Germanium (HPGe) digital spectroscopy system that eliminates liquid nitrogen and is immune to thermal cycling.
The all-in-one configuration of the LDM-1 along with its small laboratory footprint and low-power consumption make it highly desirable for MOBILE counting laboratories.
The LDM-1 includes the highly successful MAESTRO MCA Emulator. This software includes features as:
- identifying peaks
- editing libraries, and creating, printing and saving Regions of Interest (ROI)
- performing energy calibrations
- automating tasks
advantages
- complete Turn-Key Solution
- increases productivity and instrument uptime due to the fact that thermal cycling is never required on a partial warm up
- reduces cost and improves safety since liquid nitrogen is not required
- ideal for small of confined saces
- space saving integrated design
- quiet in operation
- generates very little waste heat (<20 watts)
- eases installation due to lightweight design (7,3 kg)
- it easily fits into standard existing lead shields and
- only requires a single USB 2.0 cable to connect to the computer
- low power consumption reduces operating costs, it consumes < 30 watts
- continuous operation via redundant power options
- integrated battery (operation time up to 4 hours)
- optional hot swappable battery extender the system continues operating for 18 hours
- MAESTRO MultiChannel Analyzer (MCA) Emulator software is included
- toolkit enables LDM-1 to integrate into your own software systems
scope
- fixed and mobile counting room applications
- Homeland Security
characteristics
- high-reliability Stirling cycle cooler cools rapidly to operating temperature
- hardened cryostat designed for long operational life
- can be temperature cycled at any time, even from partial warm up
- highly sensitive 65mm Ø x 50mm HPGe detector
- SMART-1 diagnostics: state-of-health and instrument status available at a glance
- Low Frequency Rejector (LFR) improves spectrum resolution in noisy environments
- relative efficiency 40% typical (ANSI/IEEE 325-1996)
- cryostat metal sealed “Hardened” for zero maintenance. No Molecular Sieve is used
- cool down time typically <12 hours at 25°C
- energy range 40 keV to 7 MeV Full Scale
